Centralized Packaging Staking and Cutting
The correct positioning and cut of the packaging always depends on an important component in a VFFS: the repeat mark reader.
In most VFFS, contrast sensors are used to detect the marks, also known as stripes, printed on films or packages. Responsible for positioning the packaging, they identify the contrast difference between the background and the stripe.
The color of the stripe must have a contrast so that the sensor is able to identify the difference in color, avoiding problems in the configuration of the equipment. Variations in stripe print may cause unwanted stops in the automatic packaging process, so they can not be affected by printing images or text that will make it difficult to read the sensor.
Another problem that can be identified is the positioning of thermal printer or hot stamp printing, which usually has a delimited area for recording on the packaging. Centralization of package art may also be affected. Briefly, a sum of errors with the variation of measurements between cuts and vertical sealing can occur even in a step of only 1 millimeter.
The sensor is positioned inside the machine and the configuration is made directly by the HMI to facilitate the adjustments, but this problem must be detected as soon as possible for the good performance of the production line.
